Green Grid 56303 arrives at Boston with the 6Z56 from Washwood Heath on the Morning of Wednesday 9th Septenber 2009. I suffered a bit of a disaster with this train that morning, and even worse, it was all my own making - I set off a tad later than I should have done, and then missed my turn off the A1, to find myself arriving at Ancaster (my intended location) at the same time as the train. A chase ensued, but running out of diesel, I spent an eternity driving around Sleaford looking for a filling station. I then got a call to say the train had been stopped at Hubberts Bridge, where it stood for half an hour, only for me to arrive at closed crossing gates for the fourth time during the chase!!! . This was my consolation shot after a 3 hr drive.

The rails were destined for Castleton and were worked out as a seperate train that eveninng, whilst the 56 worked out on the Hull - Doncaster Enreprise service.

This is probably one of the last photo's taken of this machine in action with EWS, as it suffered a major failure the same evening and was withdrawn, and with only an hour or o of daylight left?

On the afternoon of Thursday the 3rd March 2000, an additional Rylstone - Hull Dairycoates (6G80 09:20) arrived at its destination before the regular daily working had departed, therfore being prevented from entering the branch. The solution to the problem was to run into Hull and turn the train via the high level line, Walton Street and Anlaby curve, before setting back down the branch! - 56089 heads away from the town centre, seen approaching Hessle Road Jnc, on a section that very rarely sees revenue earning freight, at 15:40.
