37503 & 37202 pass Knabs Bridge, New Barnetby, with the afternoon's Immingham - Langley tanks, on the 19th May 1992. 37032 is seen at 06:45 approaching Southcoates Lane, Hull, with the 6E33 Baglan Bay - Saltend, on the 23rd July 1992. I photted this train after leaving work from the night shift, and is a shot that I should have done far more often than I did. 20214 and 20121 approach Brigg Rd Scunthorpe, at aprox 09:30 on the 23rd July 1992. 37405 storms through Ferriby Cutting with the 6E39 Mostyn Dock - Hull Saltend, at aprox 13:30 on the afternoon of the 26th March 1993. Next to Large Logo and BR blue, I regard this livery to be one of the best carried by this sub class, which became a common feature on the workings from Saltend for around a year. 47302 heads towards Dragonby Sidings, with the Grimsby - Roxby Tioxide containers at aprox 11:00 on the 2nd July 1993. 37415 Passes Aldwarke Jnc on the 13th August 1993, with the 6V14 Saltend - Baglan Bay Acetic Acid Tanks. 37378 approaches Southcoates Lane, Hull, at aprox 13:30 on the 14th March 1994, with the 6E39 Mostyn Dock - Saltend.

H.R.H. was visiting Hull to officially open the Transport Interchange and a new Cancer Unit at Castle Hill Hospital. Badgeworth, 13:10 on Wed 20th December 2000, and 67010 passes with the additional 1v53 07:27 Low Fell - Bristol. 67029 passes Horbury Cutting on Thursday 10TH Sept 09, at 12:38 with the 1Z06 ManVic - Ferriby - Leicester EWS Company Train. Despite having stood in virtualy full sun for an hour and a half, the train managed to arrive in cloud 10 mins early. The chase was on! 67029 approaches Ferriby as it passes Welton Box with the EWS company train, at 14:04 on Thursday 10th September 2009. Running as 1Z06 ManVic - Ferriby - Leicester, the train returned a few mins later with the DVT leading. DVT 82146 leads with 67029 at the rear of the EWS Company train as it approaches Welton at 14:21 on Thursday 10th Sept 09. 67007 stands at Cheltenham Spa at 18:45 on the 20th December 2000, with the 1e43 15:09 Plymouth - Low Fell.

Visits were also curtailed by the foot and mouth outbreak, with every road into Crofton closed for access only, and stern warnings from the local farmers on crudely painted boards stating that you were not welcome! 59004 drops down the bank from Pewsey, at Manningford, at 15:54 on the 19th April 2001. I then got a call to say the train had been stopped at Hubberts Bridge, where it stood for half an hour, only for me to arrive at closed crossing gates for the fourth time during the chase!!! . This was my consolation shot after a 3 hr drive. 56303 rests in the headshunt to the south of Boston Station, Wed 9th Sept 09. The rails were destined for Castleton and were worked out as a seperate train that eveninng, whilst the 56 worked out on the Hull - Doncaster Enreprise service. 56078 departs from Hull Docks, at Southcoates Lane, with the 6D54 Enterprise service to Doncaster, at 13:00 on the 15th October 2003. 56062 skirts the North Bank of the River Humber At 15:00 on Fiday 20th February 2004, with the 6d54 Hull - Doncater Enterprise service. This is probably one of the last photo's taken of this machine in action with EWS, as it suffered a major failure the same evening and was withdrawn, and with only an hour or o of daylight left? 56303 rests at Boston at 1336 on Wednesday 9th September 2009. On the afternoon of Thursday the 3rd March 2000, an additional Rylstone - Hull Dairycoates (6G80 09:20) arrived at its destination before the regular daily working had departed, therfore being prevented from entering the branch. The solution to the problem was to run into Hull and turn the train via the high level line, Walton Street and Anlaby curve, before setting back down the branch! - 56089 heads away from the town centre, seen approaching Hessle Road Jnc, on a section that very rarely sees revenue earning freight, at 15:40.

This was in the days before Enterprise, and any occasional traffic from Hull docks was worked by special arangement, on an as required basis. 37372 and 131 arrive at Hull Dairycoates, with a late running 6d03 04:00 from Rylstone, at 08:40 on 23rd May 1997. I was lucky with this one as I was on my way out of town, on the A63, when I saw it pass through Hessle, so a quick turn round and race back was required. In the background, 37719 can just be made out crossing over the Tilcon branch, with 6V14. My only slide of this train. Ah the Rugby coals! For a short period beginning in April 1998, a (at least) fortnightly coal service ran to Rugby, which was renound for producing outstanding traction. Thursday the 4th June 1998 was no exception when 37892 was recorded entering Hull Coal Terminal at 09:05, with the 6Z83 empty MEAs from Washford Heath. Very few 56's made their way onto these workings, with 37s and 47s being the norm (untill the sheads took over that is!) 37146 & 37069 approach Anlaby Curve from the direction of Bridlington, at 11:45 on Sunday 10th January 1999. Running as 7T72 to Doncaster, this lengthy ballast working had been employed between Cottingham Nth and Driffield the previous evening. I was on my way out of town on Wednesday 10th March 1999, when completely by surprise, I passed 37516 heading towards the dock on this train! - a quick turn around was the order of the day, to find that the train had ran from Toton as 6Z77 to Hull Coal Terminal, to be loaded with a one off load of Pumiss for Allington (6Z78). The empty hoppers are seen entering the coal terminal at 15:25, in what was to be the only sunny shot of the day. What we would give for such a stroke of luck these days! 37689 acts as a super shunter, whilst standing in for the usual pilot, whilst shunting coil carriers at Hull Steel terminal on Fri 11th February 2000.

I took this working back home after a trip to Carlisle. 20087 and 132 run round the stock at Skegness, 1st Sept 1993. 20087 and 132 set back into the platforms at Skegness on the 1st Sept 1993. 20132 and 20087 pass Wainfleet aprox 1Hour late due to a points failure at Sleaford, with the 08:12 Leicester - Skegness on 1st September 1993. 20087 AND 132 bask in the sun at Skegness after working the 08:12 from Leicester (1e86). 20187 and 075 pass Ancaster with the 08:12 1e86 Leicester - Skegness on 24th August 1993. 20131 and 128 pass Attenborough on the morning of the 26th August 1993 with the 1e86 08:12 Leicester - Skegness. 20131 AND 128 lead the 08:12 Leicester - Skegness past Ancaster on the 26th August 1993. 20131 and 128 aproach the crossing at Wainfleet, 26th August 1993. 20128 and 131 stand at Skegness with along wait before departure at 18:12 with 1m86 to Leicester. 31187 waits to depart from HullParagon with the steam heated 19:17 to Leeds on the 5th February 1985. 31444 Rest in the former excursion pplatforms at Hull Paragon, on 29th September 1984. 31156 Speeds past 08224 at Dringhouses Yard on 24th April 1984. Sunday 24th June 1984, and 31410 waits to depart Hull Paragon with the 1M20 13:38 to Manchester Piccadilly. 20301 AND 304 pass the washing plant as the depart Hull for Bridlington at 13:48 on Wed 8th October. Returning from Bridlington, 20304 and 301 have just passed underneath Beverley Southern Bypass at 15:38 on 8th Oct. 20304 leads 20301 at Brigg Rd Scunthorpe, 09:59 9th October 2008. 20301 and 20304 were brought to a stand in the perfect spot at Brigg Road, Scunthorpe, at 11:59 9th October. 20304 and 301 pass Welton at 13:12 9th October 2008. 20301 and 304 approach Beverley Northern Bypass at 15:52 on Monday 13th October. Increadibly lucky with the light on this one - when the train was at the crossing most of the shot was in shadow. 20304 and 20301 Lowfield Lane, Melton, 16:32 Mon 13th October. 31296 leads 31288 and the 6M63 Saltend - Toton acetic acid tanks through Hessle on the 28th August 1984. 31's were never common on this traffic, but at the time I was probably disapointed (hoping for a 40), so it's a wonder that I bothered to press the shutter. Whilst many find B.R. Blue a boring livery, I grew up with it, so don't hold the same opinion. I was over the moon when I copped for 31434 leading 31166 with the 7H19 1546 Penmaenmawr - Guide Bridge ballast, on my one and only visit to the footbridge at Mostyn, 31st May 1996. 31427 approaches Hessle on 14th May 1984, with the 2k11 17:46 Hull - Leeds. An artistic accident ? - Inexperience brought about this atmospheric shot of 31264 passing Hessle during the late afternoon of 21st March 1984, with a train of presflows from the Blue Circle cement works at Melton. I had only just got my first 35mm camera (Fujica STX-1N), and didn't worry about such things as where the sun was etc. Luckily on this occasion it was diffused somewhat by the footbridge. 31411 stands at Hull Paragon with what is thought to be a working to Bridlington, at 10:40 on Saturday 9th June 1984. Unfortunately I never kept much in the way of records at this time, and a lot of detective work is involved in coming up with a date, let alone train details! I very rarely managed to get to Botanic Gardens when the sun was out and at the correct angle, so this shot of 31235 on the 10th November 1984 stands out as one of my better efforts. 31304 & 31170 Pass Barnetby on May 4th 1989, with the Ashton and Preston - Immingham 31233 passes Knabbs Bridge Melton Ross, with empty steel flats on the morning of 29th May 1992. 20169 & 20117 pass Barnetby on May 29th 1992 with empty coil carries for Griimsby. 20121 & 20190 arive at Grimsby with empty steel flats on June 10th 1992. 20121 and 190 stand at Grimsby, June 10th 1992. 20117 stands with 20104 inside Frodingham shed on Saturday 4th July 1992. 20214 & 20121 approach Barnetby with steel empties from Grimsby at aproximately 18:00 10th July 1992. 20214 and 20121 pass Brickyard Lane Melton on Saturday 19th July 1992, with Pathfinder Tours Two Roses Voyager railtour to Scarborough. 20214 heads up to Dragonby sidings from Scunthorpe at aproximately 10:30 on August 28th 1992. 20214 makes a fine sight on the Dragonby branch, with a trip working to Scunthorpe, 28th August 1992. 31146 & 31147 pass Moorethorpe on the afternoon of August 13th 1993, with what is thought to be a repaired wagon trip from Healey Mills. 31271 pases Denaby on 9th September 1993, with what is though to be a Mountsorell - Doncaster working. 31233 passes through the out-skirts of Hull just South of Cottingham at 0854 on Tuesday 12th May 2009, with a Doncaster - Doncaster trip via Scarborough, Hull, Leeds, Harrogate and York. 20302 & 20303 pass Brickyard Lane, Melton at aprox 10:30 on Monday 18th February 2002, with the 6Z48 05:57 Carlisle - Hull King George Dock low level radio-active waste containers. 20302 & 20303 arrive on 10 Quay, HUll King George Dock, with the 6Z48 0557 from Carlisle, at 12:40 on 18th February 2002. On the morning of Monday the 18th February 2002, 20303 & 20302 worked a 6Z48 05:57 Carlisle - Hull, seen here at 13:00 on 10 quay, Hull King George Dock after running round the short train of low level radioactive waste. (20303 nearest) 20313 & 20312 approach Seaton Snook Jnc at 10:56 on the 24th July 2006 with the 6e44 Carlisle - Seaton On Tees Flasks. Late afternoon sunlight glints off 31's 156 & 154 as they unload the daily train fom Rylstone on the afternoon of the 7th March 1989. 25306 passes through Crewe in fading light on Friday 1st June 1984, hense the panned shot - fom memory, I think I was down to a 15th/sec and the results are far fom great, however I have few shots of 25's in service! 25154 Crewe 03:15 Saturday 2nd June 1984. 31117 Old Oak Commomn 16th February 1985. 20009 and 20167 make for interesting traction on the daily Hull - Leeds Freightliner, when seen passing Hessle Haven at aprox 18:00 on 30th May 1985.
